ANSARY FOUNDATION
CANCER RELIEF PROJECT

In Bangladesh more than 150,000 people die from cancer every year. This figure does not need to be this high because they have excellent treatments available but it is just not accessible because of the sheer cost of treatments. Only 20% of all cancer patients are able to afford treatment. Cancer treatment at a public facility in Bangladesh requires Tk 25,000 (around £200) for a radiotherapy session, Tk 20,000 (around £150) for a chemotherapy session and Tk 60,000 (around £500) for a surgical procedure. Each of the sessions are at private hospitals which costs Tk 1,50,000 (£1200) to Tk 3,00,000 (£2500). Which is completely unaffordable for most citizens in Bangladesh so we are trying to help anyway we can by raising funds to help contribute towards the treatment.
